haha, ok sorry, did not quite understand you. it is not exactly in cologne itself, but on the outskirts. you know Pulheim? that's the place. small village, 1 church.

holy camoly. yeah that explains it quite detailed and well. too bad I cannot jump at it and try and reproduce that right now. the cam I had lent for taking the TS shots is not with me anymore. but what you write makes sense. thanks a lot for taking the time to answer.

hi tim, yeah i know what you mean. i have used a T-S lens before as well. the only thing that I don't get is - your depth of field is very deep here and shows sharpness from the first meter till the horizon. the last ts i used did no allow for such behaviour as it narrows the DOF to a very short range, thus creating a nice effect if you managed to place the sharpness on the rider. but maybe there are differences in the way these lenses work. I am still only scraping the surface of this topic it seems...

then how do you explain the weird focal plane? can you please elaborate what you mean by in-camera? did you use lensbabies?

EDIT: I saw your lens description. right, that explains a lot. cheers!

yup, it was... almost flattened it. I guess round about 8-10m distance and ~2.5-3m height diff. hard to tell actually... I am not so good at guesstimates.
